Evgeni Malkin’s Stanley Cup Rings Stolen in Burglary

Pittsburgh Penguins star Evgeni Malkin’s home was targeted in a burglary on Saturday, with thieves making off with the three Stanley Cup rings the forward had earned throughout his storied career. Malkin returned to his residence in Sewickley Heights, Pittsburgh, to find the break-in had occurred.

Allegheny County police have confirmed the theft of Malkin's three rings, part of his legacy with the Penguins, who have won the championship three times since his arrival in 2006. Malkin, 38, is a veteran of the NHL, having scored 506 goals in his career, placing him 45th on the league’s all-time list.

The Penguins organization expressed its support, working closely with authorities and team security, and asked for Malkin’s privacy to be respected during the investigation. No further comments were made at this time.

This burglary follows a series of high-profile break-ins targeting professional athletes in recent months, including NFL stars Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce, and Joe Burrow, as well as NBA players Bobby Portis and Luka Dončić. Police have stated that, as of now, there is no indication that Malkin’s case is connected to these previous incidents, though the investigation remains ongoing.

Authorities have warned athletes to safeguard their homes, with the NBA linking the break-ins to transnational theft groups targeting high-net-worth individuals.
