Jennifer Tilly makes $5 million annually from The Simpsons, despite never starring in it. |
Jennifer Tilly, the Oscar-nominated actress known for her role in Bullets Over Broadway and her iconic portrayal of Tiffany Valentine in the Chucky franchise, earns a surprising $5 million each year from The Simpsons—a show she was never a star of.
Tilly’s connection to The Simpsons stems from her marriage to Sam Simon, one of the co-creators of the long-running animated series. Although she voiced a character in just one episode over 20 years ago, Tilly receives a substantial portion of the show’s profits due to a divorce settlement with Simon. Tilly was awarded 25% of Simon’s income from The Simpsons, including syndication, films, and other revenue. After Simon’s death in 2015, an agreement ensured Tilly would continue to receive 30% of all income from Simon’s estate tied to The Simpsons. This has amounted to millions for the actress.
In a recent interview, Tilly expressed her gratitude for Simon’s foresight, saying, "Every day, honestly, every day I’m like, ‘Thank you, Sam.’"
Beyond The Simpsons, Tilly has carved out a successful career as a professional poker player. She won a World Series of Poker bracelet in 2005 and has accumulated over $1 million in tournament winnings. The income from The Simpsons allows her to be selective with her film projects, focusing instead on poker and living a quieter life with her partner, pro poker player Phil Laak.
